Church of San Giovanni All'Archetto: One of the most important testimonies of the ancient origin of Samolaco. The walls are largely buried by debris carried by the nearby Casenda and Meriggiana streams, in memory of the numerous floods and landslides that over the years swept away the ancient buildings of Samolaco. The apse faces east as in most ancient churches, supported by fine Romanesque masonry. On the north wall, the small bell tower remains, which has been remodeled on various occasions from the 17th to the 19th century. According to the documents left by the historian Pietro Buzzetti, it would seem that the walls of the apse were entirely adorned with frescoes referable to the sixteenth century: today only a few signs can be seen on the walls. On the façade, however, the well-preserved fresco painted in the last century by the local painter Prevosti, depicting St. John the Baptist, stands out.
