Best Hikes to North Kaibab/Ken Patrick Trailhead

Tips

  • The North Kaibab Trailhead takes you right into the heart of the Grand Canyon. It is part of the Corridor Trail System, which allows you to cross the canyon from the north side to the south side via the Colorado River (or the other way around). The descent to the Colorado from the North Rim is about 12.5 miles (20 kilometers) with about 1,800 vertical meters (5,400 feet) of descent.

The Ken Patrick Trail will lead you along the rim and through pine forest with considerably less elevation change. It ends at Point Imperial.
