Les Planches: This plank of azobé wood, a tropical type of wood from Africa with a deep purple-brown color, has been the most characteristic part of beach life in Deauville since 1923. Along Lrs Planches you will see the famous bains Pompéiens of the complex of sea baths, built of concrete with Art Deco mosaic. these baths consist of nine courtyards, each of which also has a children's pool. On the side of the beach, and therefore the boardwalk, are 450 cabins, each named after an American movie star who was invited to the city's film festival. (Michelin)
