Police Boat 813 Tsunami Memorial Park

In the center of Khao Lak is still a police boat that washed the wave more than a kilometer inland.The tsunami museum itself is a garage with a few laminated pictures in memory of this terrible event.For the memorial wall in the nearby fishing village of Nam Khem, relatives could design a tile for each victim, which was embedded in the wall.

I also think it's definitely worth visiting the museum. Entrance fees are donated to a school in Khao Lak. You should take your time and watch the ZDF report about the tsunami.

It is now not a garage but a permanent building. There are several small stalls all around that show similar pictures.
Further south, about 20km from Khao Lak, there is another tsunami museum. The name is Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Museum in Bang Muang.
