Arroccamento Trail of Sengio Alto (SAT/CAI 149)

Amazing historical trail from World War I (SAT/CAI 149). Never banal, it climbs between jagged crests and gullies, constantly changing direction and ups and downs with an exceptional panorama.
Possible detour via a very short 20m via ferrata to reach the top of Cornetto (1899m).

Italian mule track from the Great War that winds along the jagged and spectacular Sengio Alto chain, in the heart of the Piccole Dolomiti, between spires and towers, between gorges and tunnels, with beautiful views of the valleys. After the Strafexpedition of 1916, the Austrian invasion on the Italian front, the Military Engineers created a series of routes to connect and supply the different observation and artillery positions at high altitude, with tunnels and shelters.
