The Alpspitze is 2628 meters high and belongs to the Wetterstein Mountains. The pyramid-shaped summit is one of the symbols of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and one of the best known and most beautiful mountains in the Northern Limestone Alps. There are several paths leading up to the summit cross. A cable car leads to an "AlpspiX" viewing platform on the Osterfelderkopf at the foot of the Alpspitze. Here you have a great view at an altitude of 2000 meters.
