Weyergasse. The slightly curved Weyergasse, whose outer section runs along the medieval city wall, is one of the oldest streets in the city (12th/13th centuries), along with Burggasse and Wickenburgstraße.This district was once called "beym Windischen Thor" (Windish Gate).Until the end of the Middle Ages, the street was bordered by the Schranne (courthouse) on the east side (Hauptplatz 16), and by the former Salzburg Amtshaus (Salzburg Office Building) on the west side (Burggasse 1).At the southern end of Weyergasse, until 1807, stood the Fischertor or Windischtor (1392 Vischer Tor, 1504 Windisch Thor), adjoined to the west by a bastion-like defensive and guard tower complex, today only remnants of which remain.
