Dullstroom, also known as Emnothweni, is a small town in Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The town lies 35 kilometres north of Belfast and some 53 kilometres south-west of Lydenburg. Dullstroom lies on the Highveldt plateu that is found in South Africa, and is the reason that its climate is so different from the surrounding areas.
Emnotweni means “the place of prosperity”.
Dullstroom is a small town in Mpumalanga province, best known for its horse riding trails, fly-fishing, scenic hikes, and picnic spots beside magnificent waterfalls.
It is South Africa's premier trout fishing area
The name Dullstroom is derived from a Dutch Merchant called Wolterus Dull and the Crocodile River which flows nearby.
The town was originally named Dull's-stroom, but this was later simplified to Dullstroom.
It was also referred to as the 'Place of Eternal Mist' by the first Dutch settlers
