The remains of a presumably Celtic ring wall which, with a diameter of approx. 400 m, almost completely encloses the Eibenhardt mountain top. The original fortification consisted of a moat and a wall, which was equipped with wooden palisades. The highest point on the Eibenhardt, in the middle of the ring wall, is referred to in various documents as the "Riesenhöfchen". The ring wall served not only as a “refuge” for the population of the surrounding settlements, but also as a place of residence for a permanent occupation. The highest point on the Eibenhardt in the middle of the ring wall is known as the "Riesenhöfchen". There is a presumption that the next Celtic settlement was in the area of today's Cölbe. This is indicated by "Kulbe", the Celtic name for swamp. In the period from 200 to 100 BC The Celts were ousted or mixed with the Germanic Chatti tribe. This system lost its importance. Instead, the Teutons established a place of worship for their god Donar on the top of the mountain, as well as a cremation place for their high nobles.
