Large complex that reached its peak in the s. XV and XVI. Abandoned in the last century, it was reoccupied and restored at the end of the 1950s. The current church is Baroque, from the 17th century. The Madalena and Rosario chapels stand out, as well as the Renaissance sacristy (the work of Juan de Herrera). . The three cloisters, the hostelry, the processions and the large one, the chapter house, its spectacular kitchen and dining room, complete the main rooms.

The monastery and the attached church in Sobrado are among the most impressive on the Camino del Norte. The monastery was founded around the year one thousand and houses two impressive cloisters.
