This freely accessible, ducal game park, which has existed since 1860, comprises a 250-hectare park landscape with several forest paths for walking. The wildlife park is a bit inconspicuous on the western outskirts of Dülmen, but is very popular especially now during the Corona lockdown, so that the actually long, free parking lane is quickly occupied. Once through the entrance gate, large meadows with molehills, pastures and some old farmsteads await the visitor, some of which are decaying every now and then along the way through beech, oak and mixed forests. Right at the beginning there is one of two large ponds. The main paths were easy to walk on and could also be mastered with a stroller or balance bike. The side paths, however, were less split, so that the paths can be muddy here on rainy days. We recommend sturdy shoes and mud and digging clothing for the little ones. During our tour there were a lot of dogs in the wildlife park, so unfortunately we could only observe the game from a distance. Binoculars are certainly helpful here, as well as not to stride too fast across the paths, but also to let your eyes wander into the distance so as not to miss the animals.
