From the 16th century a Saint-Simon chapel is attested in this isolated place; it would have been built near a source deemed to have the power to heal the eyes and was the site of an important pilgrimage on August 6; destroyed during religious unrest, it would have been rebuilt in the 17th century and then overthrown by an avalanche; the current building bears the date 1885 in the ironwork transom of the door; the bell tower was rebuilt in 1956 and the entire building restored in 1962.
