    The theater was founded in 1920. Its history dates back to the interwar period. The first performance is A. Vilkutaitis-Keturakis' comedy "America in the Bathhouse", staged by primary school teacher Teofilis Sukackas. Later, during the war, the village performances were directed by J. Gaidys, who wrote the anthem of Margioniai village, "Song about Skroblų", plays "On the Hill of Tears" and "Tears of Sirata". When he died, the theater was discontinued. The theater was revived only as it approached its 75th anniversary. anniversary. The singers of the Margioniai Laying Theater still sing songs created by J. Gaidis and learned from parents and grandparents. There is no family in the village that has not played in rural theater performances. The living tradition continues.
