Sculptor Kristaps Gulbis. The sculptural object "Raiņa pines" was installed in a favorite resting place of the poet J. Rainiš, to whom he dedicated the poem "Broken pines", and which symbolically captures memories and evidence of the time, place and events that once took place here. The sculpture is installed in the dune area in Pumpuris, at the end of Amatas Street, where the last of the three legendary Raina pine trees is located. Jurmala is closely connected with the life and memory of Rainis and Aspazija. In our city, there are two museums dedicated to these poets: Raina and Aspazija summer house and Aspazija house, which after reconstruction and restoration have just opened their doors to visitors.

The sculpture "Raiņa priedes" is a fascinating place in Jūrmala that embodies the soul of Latvian poet and thinker Rainis (real name Jānis Pliekšāns). The installation is made of rusty steel and bears the poet's engraved words, reflecting his love for nature and commitment to Latvian culture. Rainis often spent his last years here in Jūrmala, and this sculpture symbolizes not only his relationship with the famous pines of Jūrmala, but also the "broken pines" from one of his poems.

The monument is the work of artist Kristaps Gulbis and was inaugurated in 2014. It exudes a raw, honest aesthetic that perfectly fits Rainis' story and character. Here on Amatas iela, surrounded by pines and nature, it is easy to imagine how the poet found inspiration for his works. A quiet place that invites reflection and brings a piece of Latvian cultural history to life.
