The summit of Civillina is wide, grassy and very panoramic with a wide view of the Vicenza and Trentino Prealps, today unfortunately covered by clouds and mist. There are also numerous trenches and other very well preserved or recovered war artefacts. Finally, congratulations for the comprehensive explanations posted on numerous information panels along the entire itinerary.

At the summit, there is a remarkable panoramic view that extends from Carega to Pasubio, from Novegno to the Asiago Plateau and the Grappa Group.

Precisely because of its strategic position, straddling the Agno and Leogra Valleys, during World War I, Mount Civillina was an important Italian stronghold on the last line of resistance, at the intersection of Orthogonale 1 and Orthogonale 2, to block a possible enemy breakthrough from Pasubio. It was never directly involved in the conflict, but throughout the surrounding area, military structures such as defense trenches, artillery emplacements, cave shelters, a powder magazine, the mule track ascending from Sentinello, and the military road accessible to trucks are still visible and recovered.

Mount Civillina has also been, for centuries, since the Middle Ages, one of the most important mining centers in the Vicenza area, extracting iron, silver, magnesium, kaolin, and much more.
