Weidner Pond

The pond is part of the fish farms of the former taster Reinhardsbrunn (is still managed today by a fish breeding company) and is a nice spot for a little break while biking and hiking.

There are several ponds around the Reinhardsbrunn area.

For the monks' self-sufficiency, they built a mill, bakery, brewery, storehouse and garden center on the monastery grounds.
Around 1097 the monks created the ponds for fish farming.
There were once over 20.
Even today there are 9 ponds in Reinhardsbrunn, some of which are still used for fish farming.
