The old Sinsheim town hall dates from 1712 and today houses the town museum and the tourist information office. A previous building was destroyed in the Palatinate War of Succession in 1689. The republic was proclaimed from this building on April 24, 1848 by the revolutionary freedom movement around the pharmacist Gustav Mayer.

In the meantime, it is home to the Sinsheim City Museum.
Changing exhibitions illuminate special historical epochs, exhibits or people from Sinsheim and the Kraichgau. The historic building itself invites you to discover it in a playful way and clearly shows the half-timbered construction. Children can get to know the history of Sinsheim alone or accompanied by adults on a rally through the house.

The old town hall was built in 1712-1714. The previous building, like many other buildings in Sinsheim, was destroyed in the Palatinate War of Success in 1689. The color scheme in light and gray is based on restoration investigations and corresponds to the original color version. In 1848 the democratic republicans around the city pharmacist Gustav Mayer made history in this building when he proclaimed the republic on April 24, 1848 and with his supporters (at least temporarily) exercised political power from here.

Today the building houses a citizens' hall with the coats of arms of the villages that once belonged to the Sinsheim district, the tourist information center and the local history museum.

In the city museum there are exhibits on prehistory and early history, on Celtic and Roman settlement, on the history as an imperial city in the Middle Ages up to the wars of the 17th century. Another focus is the democracy and freedom movement of 1848/49. Old crafts are presented in the historic roof structure.
        Opening times of the City Museum: Mon-Fri 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sat 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The tourist information office has the following opening times: Mon-Fri 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sat 9 a.m.-1 p.m. City tours, for example, can also be booked there. Further information at: sinsheimer-erlebnisregion.de
