The Venetian sawmills are the note that characterizes the banks of the Torrente Rabbiés.
The ancient water machines, once used for the first processing of wood, are single-issue museum cells and points of interest that qualify and enhance the landscape-environmental heritage of the Val di Rabbi. The perfection of their functioning mechanisms is the result of the skill of craftsmen of other eras, profound connoisseurs of construction techniques that can still be considered a masterpiece of mechanical engineering.

A unique show that I had the privilege and the good fortune to see in operation. A Venetian sawmill built in 1700 that still works with the power of water alone. Only a few times a year they turn it on and not every time they manage to get it started.
