    Alp Turna
Alp in the high valley of Malbun, municipality of Triesenberg, 1800 m above sea level. (Alpine building), 337.4 hectares, 104 hectares of which are productive pastures. Name from the plural of the extinct dialect word Turn to German Turm (rock head).
There are no early documentary mentions; Turna was simply referred to as "Malbun". The Turna area was already included in the fiefdom letter of 1355, through which the Triesenbergers received the “Melbun” alp from Vaduz / Schaan as a fiefdom. In 1911 the name Turna was only used for the area around the alpine hut. There were occasional disputes with the people of Vaduz and Schaan over the use of wood, the right to escape snow or border violations. Turna was traditionally a cow. But it was not until 1890, two years after the introduction of the community dairy in the Triesenberg Alps, that the stable and dairy buildings were built. In 1928 75 cows were summered, in 1984 two more. Turna has been operated together with Galtviehalp Sareis for several years. For both Alps, the maximum stocking is set at 75 livestock units each. In 2004, 18 cows without cheese, 156 cattle, 7 calves and 19 horses were summered on Turna-Sareis. The area has been accessible to summer and winter tourism by a chairlift and a mountain restaurant since 1963.
