In Doccia, near Fiumalbo, there are about twenty-five stone rural buildings with particular stepped facades covered and protected by sandstone slabs. The ancient origin and the particular structure allow them to be traced back to Celtic culture, as evidence of the architecture and history of the ancient inhabitants of the Frignano mountains, with their uses and customs. The Celtic civilization was in fact the first complex civilization in Europe: the rural buildings of Doccia date back to the invasions of the Celts in the fourth century BC.

Typically, the Celtic hut has a rectangular plan and built in stone masonry and earth mortar. They are always erected close to an overhang of land, to allow a practical use of the two floors (ground and attic) as a stable and barn. The hut was inhabited on the upper floor, with the herds on the lower one to heat the environment.
