The climb to Lac de la Fare is fairly easy, up to Lac Carrelet, a steep but not technical climb. However, for those who want to climb to Lac de la Fare, I recommend a climb from Huez. There are a few cable crossings, nothing insurmountable, but these are reserved for people in good physical condition who are not afraid of heights.
