In Finsteregg we orientate ourselves towards Gasthof Hegerberg. The path is narrow and beautiful. It immediately climbs quite zacking and after about 500 meters we reach two hairpin bends at a chapel. After another 600m we pass Maierhöfen and after a total of 2.8 km we come to the driveway from the east (Hendelgraben / Stössing). The last ramp up to the Hegerberg is only 400 m long, but it becomes relatively steep again.
