The construction of the village chapel "Sankt Georg" dates back to June 15, 1985. On this day, on the initiative of Johann Ermer, who has meanwhile been made an honorary citizen of the community, the Georgenberg Kapellenbauverein was founded. Ermer has served as chairman of this community since then.

After eleven years of existence of the association and over two years of construction, the consecration took place on August 25, 1997 by the then diocesan bishop Manfred Müller. The neat little church, which blends in perfectly with the village, is consecrated to St. George.

The maintenance and care of the chapel is now the responsibility of the "Fördergemeinschaft Dorfkapelle Sankt Georg", the successor to the chapel building association.

In the room-dominating altarpiece, the painter Reinhold Schultes, who is also the secretary of the Sankt Georg village chapel, has placed the scene of the "St. George's legend" with the dragon stitch in the local forest landscape in the style of the old masters. In front of dark spruce trees on the Kühtränkberg, the very youthful and distinguished rider in a flowing red coat and gold helmet with red plumes on his head carries out the fight against the dragon.
