Karmazinai Cognitive Trail

Depending on the selected starting point of the walk, the circular route extends for 5.5 or 7 kilometers. The most scenic part of the trail runs along Neri.

The Karmazini Cognitive Trail is one of the most scenic routes in the Neris Regional Park, located near Dūkstiai, Vilnius District. This circular trail, which is about 7 km long, invites visitors to immerse themselves in the natural and cultural heritage. The route starts at the Karmazinai graveyard, the largest in the Vilnius area, which bears witness to the ancient Baltic burial traditions. The trail passes through wooded areas where you can see centuries-old oaks, pines and rare plant species listed in the Lithuanian Red Book. The most impressive part of the trail is the 60-metre-high Velniakampis Hill, which offers panoramic views of the bends of the Neris River and the valley. This place fascinates visitors not only with its natural beauty, but also with mythological tales of devils and witches.The trail is well signposted and suitable for visitors of all ages. Information boards provide information on the nature, history and culture of the area. In addition, there are several rest areas along the route with gazebos, benches and fireplaces where you can relax or have a picnic. The Karmazini Nature Trail is a great place for both a short walk and a longer hike, allowing you to discover the unique landscape and history of the Neris Regional Park.
