Moorbahn Burgsittensen and Hand der Natur Café

The Tister Bauernmoor is a raised bog that was declared a nature reserve on May 2, 2002. It has a size of 570 hectares and, together with the Ekelmoor nature reserve to the south, the Avensermoor and the Everstorfer Moor, forms part of the large raised bog area Ekelmoor, which has a total area of 1220 hectares.

At the station of the Moorbahn (which runs in the summer months at the weekend, see website) there is a cafe, which is also open on winter weekends and well attended.

Certainly a nice pleasure with the former Moorbahn zuckeln by the moor. She starts at the cafe. The train ends at a small "platform". From here a flat wooden boardwalk leads to the first observation hut. So this is well accessible for disabled people.
