The Oceanographic Institute – Albert I, Prince of Monaco Foundation was founded in 1906 by Prince Albert I. For more than a century, it has brought together scientists, politicians, economists, associations and the general public to “know, love and to protect" .

Admission isn't cheap (book online and visit at off-peak times with a discount), but it's definitely worth it.
The 1st floor with various old seafaring utensils is also particularly recommended.

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco or Oceanographic Museum is a public oceanographic museum-aquarium in neo-baroque style, from the Rock of Monaco, on the Côte d'Azur, founded facing the Mediterranean Sea in 1889 by Prince Albert I of Monaco, and inaugurated in 1910. Property of its Oceanographic Institute Foundation, Albert I, Prince of Monaco Foundation, it was, among others, directed by Commander Cousteau from 1957 to 1988.

This 6,000 m2 monument is the most imposing on the Rock (along with the Palace of Monaco and the Notre-Dame-Immaculée Cathedral of Monaco). It is built on the side of a cliff, 85 m high, and made up of around a hundred pools for a large collection of 350 species of fish, for more than 6,000 specimens1, and more than 600,000 annual visitors.
