On this square stands the Romanesque Église Saint-Pierre, the only remaining building of the former Notre-Dame Abbey, an influential nunnery from the 7th century. The abbey disappeared during the French Revolution, but the church was preserved and now serves as a memorial to victims of the deportations during WWII.
