Castell Dinas Brân (probably crow's fortress in Welsh) is a medieval castle which stands on a hilltop site overlooking the town of Llangollen. It is thought to have been built in the 1260s by Gruffydd Maelor II, a prince of Powys Fadog, on the site of an Iron Age hillfort and other earlier structures.
