A lovely quiet ride through lanes amd woods. This route passes through Marford Quarry natures reserve, it utilises the ancient toll road for hauling horse drawn wagons up the Marford hill en route from Chester to Wrexham.

This short ride is only half of the story. My phone died en route. This ride would normally go on up the Clwedog river valley through the Minera lead mine visitors area and up into Minera Quarry nature reserve. I did complete this ride and it is magnificent. Much of the ride is on trails and verg steep in parts.

I followed the Heritage railway. Line cycling route to Rowsley.

Then left at the A6 for 100yards to the Peacock where you turn right up Church lane. This climbs steeply and becomes a gravel lane. Up and up to a bridal way junction. Bear left and on a bridal way to another

This tour is a very relaxing ride. 90% on quiet single carriageway lanes, 5% green lane and 5% B roads.

This is my local ride when i have an hour an half to spare and unwind in some really beautiful rural countryside. There are a few more pubs along the way and many little diviations to play with. Hope you engoy as much as i do.
