The Ipsala border crossing is the main border crossing between Turkey and Greece. A large part of the exchange of goods between Europe and Turkey takes place here. The crossing can only be used by vehicles, pedestrians are not processed.
Due to its proximity to the Meric River, the river delta landscape near Ipsala is mainly characterized by rice fields.
