A folk original is honored with the sculpture of the crier. At the beginning of the 20th century, Jan Boller, born in 1866, was a crier and night watchman in Klausdorf an der Schwentine for many years. He announced himself with his bell and then carried out official messages in Low German that he had learned by heart beforehand. He could not read, so that his messages were sometimes misunderstood.

The bronze figure is quite detailed and shows a vivid picture of the depicted scene. One hand holds the bell, the other the book, both with arms raised, which makes the crier appear very engaged and attracts the attention of his audience. The slightly bent left free leg mirrors the raised right arm with the bell diagonally. The work appears cheerful and sympathetic to the viewer even if he does not know the historical background.
