The current church building dates from 1516/1517, after the previous church was burned down in 1454 by robber baron Hans von Rechberg. The new building was consecrated on July 17, 1517 and in 1846 the tower was significantly raised (61 meters). During the interior renovation in 1993, the church received the current altar and ambo. With a view to the 500th anniversary of the church's consecration, the church was renovated inside in 2013 and outside in 2017.translated by
