Museum Markt Erlbach – History and Craftsmanship

Former parish and deanery building from 1443. On three levels you can gain insight into the development of crafts, medical care, emigration and immigration as well as local history.

Trade, commerce, crafts and offices characterize the face of the former Franconian row village of Markt Erlbach. Life developed along the main street; crafts and farmers were located in the adjacent streets.
Worth seeing are the gatehouse, the old deanery building with the Rangau Craftsmen's Museum and the defiant Kilianswehrkirche from the 14th century. Its five-story tower once offered refuge from marauding soldiers and robbers. The old half-timbered town hall dominates the market square.
