The many barrows in Neukloster Forst are witnesses to earlier cultures in the Nordic region. They date from 1600 to 700 BC. The grave complexes were mostly built along old trade routes near settlements.

This imposing barrow from the Bronze Age is located in the middle of the cemetery. It is one of a total of 73 graves in the Neukloster Forst.
