Here you have the choice: Either you cycle towards Hattingen or you take the coal railway branch to Gevelsberg-Silschede. Both routes are wonderfully quiet and excellently accessible even without asphalt. When it's wet, the bike gets dirty. The coal railway is a railway track for nature lovers.

At the former Bf. Schee north of the tunnel of the same name, the Harkortsche coal railway branched off from the Hattingen - Gevelsberg line. Both ex-railways are today bike trails. Here you can watch how the downhill section to Hatttingen branches off the slope to Silschede at an obtuse angle with a dam in between.
