Legend has it that a huntsman urged his horse over the chasm, landed safely, then looked back and dropped dead from shock when he saw what he had jumped over.
Huntsman's Leap is a narrow steep-sided inlet, formed by sea erosion along a fault line in the cliff.
It offers a good reason to stick to the established path! Another reason not to wander at will is that Huntsman's Leap is on an MOD firing range and is closed to the public at certain times.
