Hiking

At the foot of the mighty castle of Fougères is the church of Église Saint Sulpice. It was built in the 11th century and has been expanded and rebuilt over the centuries. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful churches in Brittany. In the Middle Ages, the Gerber Quarter was here, which was the heart of the old town at that time.

Other activities

The church took nearly four hundred years to build. It was probably due to the lack of planning that the construction dragged on for so long. In order to preserve the old structure, additions were made again and again. Because of this, the nave has various irregularities in its basic shape and height. It was finally completed in 1760.
