The Martin Luther Church was inaugurated in 1855 in the neo-Romanesque style. The present-day open bell tower was inaugurated in 1948, after the church was partially destroyed in 1945.

In the years 1541-1552 the first wooden church was built. 1772-1773, after a fire in the wooden church, it was decided to build a new massive church with a small tower. The church was completed in July 1773. In 1851, a lightning strike caused another fire in the church and a new building was necessary. Today's Martin Luther Church was built between 1853 and 1855 based on a design by Friedrich August Stüler.
