The monument is located in the former village center, which can only be guessed at today. To the left of the monument, an avenue leads up to the former border troops barracks building, which was unfortunately demolished in 2021, but the way there is by no means pointless because the Christmas tree for Rome is also located there.

Fichtenbach / Bystrice was a glassworks from 1790. Became Fuchsova Hut/Fuchshütte in 1918 and Bystrice in 1945. Fichtenbach was not a typical village. It was more of an industrial town. Around 1850, the 150 residents had their jobs in the glass processing plants. After the glass works were closed around 1930, the town still had 34 residential buildings with 221 Germans and 97 Czechoslovakians who earned their income as forest workers, small farmers, poachers and smugglers. In 1945, after the expulsion, the castle was converted into a border guard post. In December 1955 the remaining houses and industrial buildings were demolished. In 2021 the building of the Bystrice border post was also removed.
