The resulting church was placed under monument protection in 1993.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peace in Manching stands like a cautionary hint at the place where, between hope, mourning and despair 70 years ago, many prisoners were certain to die by shooting.
The church was opened on July 20, 1958 after a solemn consecration.
