The tower was donated by the Royal Peussian master baker Robert Heil (* 1868) in his hometown of Hersfeld in 1930. His parents had a bakery in Bad Hersfeld, Robert worked for many years in Berlin, where he was, among other things, the emperor's master baker. After the war he returned to Bad Hersfeld and died in 1956.
