Visible from afar, the Beucha church rises up on the 147-meter-high Kirchberg. Surrounded on three sides by the water of the former quarry, the rock pulpit behind the church is also an attractive vantage point over the flat Leipzig countryside. The special location and the friendly, cheerful atmosphere inside attract many visitors every year.

A long, exciting history between preservation and change characterizes the church on the hill. A small church must have stood here as early as 1300. The eastern part (now the sacristy) and the tower base formed this original fortified church. After it was destroyed by the Hussites in 1429, it was rebuilt and a nave was added to the west. The wall painting in the room behind the altar dates from around 1500.

The year 1529 on one of the weather vanes indicates the year the Reformation was introduced in Beucha.
