The white mountain village of Frigiliana on the southern foothills of the Sierra Almijara has been voted the most beautiful village in Andalusia several times.
Since the Neolithic Age and around 3,000 BC, the surrounding region has also been inhabited mainly in caves by the inhabitants of that time known. A mighty menhir north-east of the city center of Frigiliana provides information about this.
