In the basement of the town hall you will find an insight into the difficult work of the miners in Sontraer Land. Old wooden remains of a tunnel entrance were found during construction work by a company in the Segel. This tunnel, which today is named after August Ratajczak, the long-standing chairman of the Sontra Miners' Association, was excavated and rebuilt in the Mining Museum true to the original.
Here you can get an idea at what height a miner had to work underground and what hard work it was. There are also old mining tools, lamps and crystals. You can also see the means of transport with which the copper slate was transported out of the mountain.
Guided tours are offered by the miners' association every first Saturday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
