    Hiking

This ancient forest was once much larger but it still occupies 865 acres (350 ha). Filled with hiking trails and forestry tracks, this mixed-use woodland is an ideal place for a walk. The Pilgrim's Trail section is part of the larger, 30-mile (48 km) route and cuts a mostly straight line through the forest from the car park on the south east.

Dogs are welcome and there are two cycle trails here too.
