The Goldbeck rises near Dannsee Castle west of Beckdorf in the Beckdorfer Moor. Only relatively straightened, it flows behind the Beckdorf railway embankment bridge in its almost unchanged stream bed across the village of Beckdorf and then through distinctive meadow landscapes past the Beekhoff in the direction of Goldbeck. Behind Goldbeck the Goldbeck is dammed up at the Goldbecker Mühle to form a mill pond. There are many meadows and pastures along the banks of the creek, as well as some small alluvial forests. It finally flows into the Este from the left and west near Moisburg.
