This castle only dates from the 17th century. It is located on the exact location of an old fort razed during the time of Louis XIII.
In 1815, it became a Céruse factory. White lead has been known to be the best white pigment since ancient times. Its use was banned at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1835, it became the headquarters of a slate company.
It has today become the collection center, post office and municipal services for the town of Fumay. A property which has seen, as you can see, many utilitarian aspects over the years.
