Mr. Kentschek (now 95 years old) was the director of the GDR children's home, looked after 112 children from precarious family backgrounds who found their "paradise" in the mill, which the mill was converted into. After WW2 also hospital.
Before the turn of the century, it was a popular excursion restaurant with 2000 seats, a ballroom and 14 gondolas on the mill pond. Thirteen trains drove daily from Leipzig to Naunhof.
