The church dates from the mid-14th century and was under the patronage of St. Anthony. In 1493 a new building and an extension were built in the late Gothic style, during which the church tower was also raised. The Reformation was accepted as early as 1523/24 through the work of Jakob Spreiter.

I was immediately fascinated by the organ that sits enthroned on the gallery; it made its way to St. Antönien in a roundabout way. It was built around 1730 by the Schaffhausen organ builder Johann Konrad Speisegger. 1766-1912 it was used in the Klosters church. It was then set up in the Grand Hotel "Vereina", where it was heard at the services of the Anglican guests. In 1986, the parish of St. Antönien was able to replace the old harmonium with this historic organ, which fits perfectly into the church interior.
