The former defensive tower now stands isolated in the green area that marks the line of the demolished fortifications. The former conical roof was replaced in the 19th century by a walkable flat roof with a crenellated crown. It received its peculiar name from its appearance, which was reminiscent of a harbor (Swabian for "pot") with a lid. Since 2023, the Hafendeckelturm has housed the permanent exhibition "Münzwerkstatt" (Coin Workshop).
